HISTORY

Most of our work in History is again planned through Topic lessons and in KS2 the children learn about specific times in British and World history, such as Britain since 1930, Ancient Egypt etc.

Our aim is to give children an awareness of the past and how life has changed over a period of time.  They learn about the important events and daily lives of the time and consider why people acted in the ways they did.

Where possible we provide opportunities for them to use a range of historical sources.  These include artefacts, pictures, photographs, stories, video material and the Internet.  They may interview people who remember the time they are studying, or meet role-play characters when studying a more distant time.
